In looking for people to hire, you look for three qualities: integrity, intelligence, and energy.  And if they don't have the first, the other two will kill you.

Your past is not your potential. In any hour you can choose to liberate the future.

Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.

Setting your sights on accomplishing your goals is the first step you should take. Then, train yourself to do first things first. Develop the habit of working at the first thing on your list and not moving on until it is done. That habit will be the most important thing. Get things done.

Don’t worry about what comes next until that first goal, for the moment, is out of the way. Going through your list of steps one at a time leads you along the path smoothly and you will reach the end when everything has been done and your success is achieved.

Change your thinking to make your life work and set each step up as what has to be done, right now. Make it a habit to see that goal as the most important thing until it is finished. Other steps may be important, but they come later and can be thought of then. Your goal at the moment is to complete one step.

Happiness grows at our own firesides, and is not to be picked in strangers' gardens.

Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed.  Happiness is the spirtual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude.

Action is a great restorer and builder of confidence.
Inaction is not only the result, but the cause, of fear.
Perhaps the action you take will be successful;
Perhaps different action or adjustments will have to follow.
But any action is better than no action at all.

There is no such thing as can't, only won't. If you're qualified, all it takes is a burning desire to accomplish, to make a change. Go forward, go backward. Whatever it takes! But you can't blame other people or society in general. It all comes from your mind. When we do the impossible we realize we are special people.

For today's meditation, we turn to one of the classic Zen masters, Huang Po, who tells us...

Q: What is the Way and how must it be followed?

A: What sort of "thing" do you suppose the Wayto be, that you should wish to "follow" it?

Old Huang, he's great, isn't he? Take a deep breath. Hold for a second.
Exhale slowly and start to focus inwardly. Repeat two or three more times.

You want to know the Way? How to follow it?

Hey, you already know; and there's nothing to follow.

Just keep breathing and being still and focused.

That's it.  Stay with this bliss as long as you can.

See, you don't need gurus and long-winded explanations about any of this.

Just be in the now.

Just be.

We grow great by dreams. All big men are dreamers. They see things in the soft haze of a spring day or in the red fire of a long winter's evening. Some of us let these great dreams die, but others nourish and protect them; nurse them through bad days till they bring them to the sunshine and light, which comes always to those who sincerely hope that their dreams will come true.

One's objective should be to get it right, get it quick, get it out, and get it over. You see, your problem won't improve with age.
